Coach Joy is a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in the Pedro Sauer Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu association. Together, with Coach Mariah, she leads the Women's Only BJJ program. Coach Joy is eager to welcome ladies onto the mat so that they can experience the positive benefits in a safe and comfortable environment. While they help women improve their self-defense skills and technique, they also can regularly be heard laughing and having a great time while doing it.

Coach Joy and her husband both train at Mad Science and off the mat, she is a mom and a registered nurse.
