  1. On Saturday, Coach Ted will be going up to Kentucky for an Affiliate training day KY at Pinnacle Jiu-Jitsu (12-4:00). He has a couple of open seats if anyone wants to come along.

  1. Judo Promotions. As your (or your child’s) judo skills develop, you have the opportunity to advance in Judo rank. Like Jiu-Jitsu, we do not charge for promotion exams and we cover the cost of the belt and certificate. Judo we will do the same, but there is one additional step. In order to ensure the legitimacy of your rank (it will be recognized by any legitimate club in the US who fall under, USA Judo, United Sates Judo Association, and the United Sates Judo federation), we require you be registered with the United States Judo Association (USJA). It’s an annual fee of $75, which also enables you to compete in any sanctioned Judo tournament (membership provides insurance for you and the tournament host). Coach Ted can explain this in more detail and can provide the technical requirements for your next rank promotion. We will send out a more detailed note later this week that provides more detail.
