Here is the Mad Science notes and lesson plan for 5-11 Aug 2024. 

 

Jiu-Jitsu Focus: 

 

  1. Adults: Top Side Control Attacks
  2. Youth: Top Side Control Attacks
  3. Women Only class: Foundations Development

 

Judo Focus: 

  1. Adult: Transitions to Juji Gatame 
  2. Youth: Koshi Waza (Hip techniques) Continued

 

Kickboxing Focus:

 

  1. Adult:  Movement, Footwork, and Balance
  2. Youth: Foundation Building, offense, defense and footwork

 

 Sambo Focus: Transitions to Juji Gatame and Leg Attacks

 

Combatives Focus: No Combatives class this week

Notes: 

 

  1. This coming Saturday (August 10th), our teammates Ben and Ryan Tucker will be hosting a clinic at Hosford BJJ. The clinic starts at 10:00. 8630 Asheville hwy, Knoxville, TN 37924

     

  2. On Saturday August 17th we will be showing the Craig Jones Invatational in the kickboxing room at the gym. We will publish the start time when it is published. 

     

  3. On Saturday, Coach Ted will be going up to Kentucky for an Affiliate training day KY at Pinnacle Jiu-Jitsu (12-4:00). He has a couple open seats if anyone wants to come along.

I could not be happier with the quality of the instruction and the comfort level walking in the door.  Ted is an easy conversation and will defiantly keep things understandable regardless of the level you are on.  Not only do I train, but my kids train with him as well.  And, I have no reservations about recommending him to any adult or child wanting to learn.

I highly recommend trying mad science judo and Jiu-Jitsu. I am from out of town, but visit the area a couple times of year and have been looking for a go to gym to train at while in town. I showed up for a Friday open mat, and the training was great. Ted (the Black Belt Instructor) treated me like a valued member of his school, and by the end of the night I felt like I was a true member of the school. great people, great atmosphere, and great instruction. I highly recommend to anyone in the oak ridge/ Knoxville area to give this school a shot. I will definitely be back when I come back to town
