Here is the Mad Science notes and lesson plan for 5-11 February 2024.
Jiu-Jitsu Focus (All): Guard Sweeps
Judo Focus (All): Gokyo of the Kodokan Set 2 (40 throwing techniques)
Kickboxing Focus (All): Dirty Dozen combinations Review
Combatives Focus (All): Introduction / Small Joint Manipulation / Striking and controlling distance / O Soto Gari / Pistol Draw and special control
Sambo Focus (All): Introduction / fireman’s / Kata guruma / straight Achilles lock
Notes:
1. This week starts our new schedule and the addition of Sambo and Combatives. Note that Adult Jiu-Jitsu Monday – Thursday now starts at 7:15 (versus 7:00)
2. We are looking at the next adult Blue belt test on 9 March. If you are a 3 or 4 stripe white belt, now is the time to start cleaning up the technical list.
3. We have some additional gym swag that will be available; hats, beanies, and a few bags are new to the line-up, plus we still have some fight shorts, rash guards, t-shirts and a few sweatshirts still available.
4. We have three custom embroidered Mad Science Jiu-Jitsu Gis available (1 x White, Blue, Black); they are A4s, but slightly bigger than our normal A4 gis. They have been discounted to $85.
5. February 24th and 25th Master Sauer will be conducting a clinic at our sister school in Louisville KY. See Coach Ted if you are interested in attending.
6. On May 11th we will be hosting an affiliate (and friends) training day. It is open to teens and above, it will consist of a free clinic and two hours of open training. More information will be published when it gets closer.
