Here is the Mad Science notes and lesson plan for 21-25 Aug 2023.

 

Jiu-Jitsu Focus:

  1. Adults: Guard Attacks.
  2. Youth: Applications of Games to Techniques / Guard Passing

Judo Focus:

  1. Adult: Uchi Mata exploration
  2. Youth: Foundation building – balance, grip and focus.  

Kickboxing Focus All: Concept Review/ Drilling: Angles, Defense, Distance., Counter Strikes

 

Notes:

  1. Coach Ted will be conducting an adult Judo/Jiujitsu clinic on Judo concepts for Jiu-Jitsu in McMinnville this Saturday; if any adults wish to attend, get with Coach Ted.

     

  2. Congratulations to everyone who competed this weekend! We had five competitors enter 9 divisions and brought home nine medals (4x gold, 3x Silver, 2 x Bronze) and we won the grand championship in the Combat Jiu-Jitsu and Grappling divisions.

     

  3. The A/C is repaired, so we are back to full gi on MON/TUE/THU/SAT.

I could not be happier with the quality of the instruction and the comfort level walking in the door.  Ted is an easy conversation and will defiantly keep things understandable regardless of the level you are on.  Not only do I train, but my kids train with him as well.  And, I have no reservations about recommending him to any adult or child wanting to learn.

I highly recommend trying mad science judo and Jiu-Jitsu. I am from out of town, but visit the area a couple times of year and have been looking for a go to gym to train at while in town. I showed up for a Friday open mat, and the training was great. Ted (the Black Belt Instructor) treated me like a valued member of his school, and by the end of the night I felt like I was a true member of the school. great people, great atmosphere, and great instruction. I highly recommend to anyone in the oak ridge/ Knoxville area to give this school a shot. I will definitely be back when I come back to town
