Here is the Mad Science notes and lesson plan for 14-18 Aug 2023.

 

Jiu-Jitsu Focus:

  1. Adults: Guard Sweeps and retention.
  2. Youth: Applications of Games to Techniques / Guard Passing

Judo Focus: ALL: Technical development and practice

Kickboxing Focus ALL: Bag Work / Partner drilling / Sparring concepts (all).

 

Notes:

  1. Due to the A/C being unreliable at the moment, we will go with a modified Sambo style uniform during gi classes (gi top + shorts). We should have this fixed soon.

     

  2. Anyone planning to compete this Saturday and needs the gear for the combat Jiu-Jitsu see Coach Ted (we have a bunch of it at the gym).

I could not be happier with the quality of the instruction and the comfort level walking in the door.  Ted is an easy conversation and will defiantly keep things understandable regardless of the level you are on.  Not only do I train, but my kids train with him as well.  And, I have no reservations about recommending him to any adult or child wanting to learn.

I highly recommend trying mad science judo and Jiu-Jitsu. I am from out of town, but visit the area a couple times of year and have been looking for a go to gym to train at while in town. I showed up for a Friday open mat, and the training was great. Ted (the Black Belt Instructor) treated me like a valued member of his school, and by the end of the night I felt like I was a true member of the school. great people, great atmosphere, and great instruction. I highly recommend to anyone in the oak ridge/ Knoxville area to give this school a shot. I will definitely be back when I come back to town
