Here is the Mad Science notes and lesson plan for 27 February – 4 March 2023.

 

Jiu-Jitsu Focus:

  1. Adults: Guard sweeps against standing opponent
  2. Youth: Guard sweeps and movement development

Judo Focus:

  1. Adult: Exploration into Seio Nage continued
  2. Youth: Skill development and drilling

Kickboxing Focus: Bag Work / Partner drilling / Sparring concepts (all).

 

Notes:

Coach Ted (and the other black belts) will be going to Savannah, GA this week (Thursday – Sunday) for the Pedro Sauer Association Black Belt summit and training. As a result we will not have youth classes or adult instructional classes on Thursday or Friday this week.

We will have an adult Open training Session on Thursday during normal Jiu-Jitsu time, and we will still have the open mats on Friday and Saturday.

I could not be happier with the quality of the instruction and the comfort level walking in the door.  Ted is an easy conversation and will defiantly keep things understandable regardless of the level you are on.  Not only do I train, but my kids train with him as well.  And, I have no reservations about recommending him to any adult or child wanting to learn.

I highly recommend trying mad science judo and Jiu-Jitsu. I am from out of town, but visit the area a couple times of year and have been looking for a go to gym to train at while in town. I showed up for a Friday open mat, and the training was great. Ted (the Black Belt Instructor) treated me like a valued member of his school, and by the end of the night I felt like I was a true member of the school. great people, great atmosphere, and great instruction. I highly recommend to anyone in the oak ridge/ Knoxville area to give this school a shot. I will definitely be back when I come back to town
