Here is the Mad Science notes and lesson plan for 20-25 February 2023.

 

Jiu-Jitsu Focus:

  1. Adults: Master Text (Standing self Defense) + applications beyond standing
  2. Youth: Guard Attacks – Anti Bullying and self-defense + skills development

Judo Focus:

  1. Adult: Exploration into Seio Nage
  2. Youth: Skill development and drilling

Kickboxing Focus: Bag Work / Partner drilling / Sparring concepts (all).

 

Notes:

1. Coach Ted will be going to Athens, GA this Saturday to train with Ryan Young (he has two open seats if any adult students want to attend; the cost is $85 – see coach Ted if you are interested).  

2. Adult Purple and Brown belt testing will be coming up on Sunday, March 19th (Time TBP).  This will be a great opportunity to see what the higher belt curriculum looks like and to get some additional rolling in). More info to follow.

I could not be happier with the quality of the instruction and the comfort level walking in the door.  Ted is an easy conversation and will defiantly keep things understandable regardless of the level you are on.  Not only do I train, but my kids train with him as well.  And, I have no reservations about recommending him to any adult or child wanting to learn.

I highly recommend trying mad science judo and Jiu-Jitsu. I am from out of town, but visit the area a couple times of year and have been looking for a go to gym to train at while in town. I showed up for a Friday open mat, and the training was great. Ted (the Black Belt Instructor) treated me like a valued member of his school, and by the end of the night I felt like I was a true member of the school. great people, great atmosphere, and great instruction. I highly recommend to anyone in the oak ridge/ Knoxville area to give this school a shot. I will definitely be back when I come back to town
